Research Interests of the Journal

A peer-reviewed periodic journal issued by the Royal Jordanian Hashemite Documentation Center concerned with cultural, social, and humanities studies related to the history and civilization of Jordan and its relations with Arab and global history.

The center named the journal "Raghdan" in line with its vision to continue documenting and studying the history and civilization of Jordan and the Hashemites, politically and culturally. Raghdan was the first political headquarters for governance and administration in contemporary modern Jordan, and its role was not limited to sovereign affairs but also embraced councils of literature, culture, and economics. Thus, it is considered a witness to the evolution of thought in modern Jordan and the broader Levant region, linking it with the history of the region and the international system.

"Raghdan" has been the most present term in the Jordanian political memory since its establishment as a headquarters for governance in 1927 to the present day, where the Jordanian and Arab political and economic elite who lived and worked with the Kings of Jordan from the founding of the Emirate to the present day gathered.
